Galway Daily weather Weather warning for heavy rain in Galway tonight

Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for Galway for the second day in the row.

A status yellow weather warning for heavy rainfall will be in place for all of Connacht until tomorrow evening.

“Heavy or prolonged showers with the risk of thundery downpours could lead to rainfall accumulations of 25 to 40 mm over the period,” Met Eireann forecast.

The warning came into effect at midday today and will remain in place until 6pm on Tuesday evening.

A similar warning, which also carried a risk of flash flooding, was issued by the national forecaster yesterday.

The weather is expected to stay miserable and wet for the remainder of the week, marking and end to a welcome sunny spell in July.
