A workshop for building contractors who want to learn more about competing for contracts for public works is being held in Galway next week.
The Local Government Management Agency is holding a one day workshop in Castlebar on Monday, September 17 to brief building contractors on the new Minor Building Works Frameworks.
It will explain how contractor can register for the framework and compete for suitable public works contracts tendered in their area.
Residential contracts under the frameworks will be worth in the region of €50,000, and commercial contracts will average €100,000.
The Minor Building Works Frameworks will deliver €100 million in publicly funded construction around Ireland across the entire public service.
Contracts will be tendered through the Local Operational Procurement Centre for the Provision of Minor Building Works to public agencies including Galway city and county councils, the HSE, the OPW, the Department of Education, Teagasc, and more.
This workshop session is also supported by InterTradeIreland, who will walk contractors through the process of registering and tendering for contracts online through www.etenders.ie.
That’s the Irish government’s online tendering platform, administered by the Office of Public Works.
The workshop will run from 7pm – 8pm at the LGMA’s Regional Training Centre in Castlebar next Monday, September 17.
Anyone who wants to register for a place can do so online here.
If you’re a building contractor who wants to learn more, but can’t make it to the session on Monday, further information will be available on www.lgma.ie or at www.etenders.gov.ie.
