Woodquay street to close on Wednesday

Woodquay street in the city will be closed overnight on Wednesday for repair works.

The city council has issued a notice that the Woodquay road will be closed between the Headgord road and Eyre street from 7pm on Wednesday until 6am the following morning.

The reason for the road closure is to allow Irish Water to carry out sewer rehabilitation works in the area.

Alternative routes will be signposted during the closure.

Motorists are advised that an alternative southbound route is available via the Headford road and St Francis street.

Local access will he maintained while the road is closed.
