Galway Daily weather Wet start to the New Year but brighter colder weather coming our way

Galway isn’t forecast to enjoy another weekend of sunny, summer style weather this weekend, as people can expected cloudy conditions and scattered rain.

Tonight will see a few sunny spells with light cloud cover, with the weather staying mostly dry.

Temperatures will average 13 to 15 degrees for most of the day, with a light variable breeze turning moderate and northwesterly into the evening.

Saturday morning will start cool, but still warmer than earlier this week, with temperatures in the region of 7 to 8 degrees

Don’t expect to get much walking in the sun as it will be cloudy throughout the day, but mostly dry save for some scattered showers Met Eireann is predicting.

Highest temperatures on Saturday will be around 12 or 13 degrees, with a light westerly wind.

Expect more of the same on Sunday, with conditions staying cloudy and little sun peeking through, while rain showers will become more persistent from mid-morning.

The rain is expected to become heavier headed into Sunday evening and night.

Temperatures on Sunday will reach highs of 10 to 13 degrees, with a moderate southwesterly wind throughout the day.
