Galway has been issued with a status yellow weather warning, along with all of the west coast, as Storm Bella is to bring rough conditions this weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, evening and night, westerly winds associated with Storm Bella will reach mean speeds of 50-65km/hr with gusts of up to 110km/hr.
There will also be a risk of coastal flooding due to the confluence of strong winds, high waves, and a forecasted storm surge.
The current status yellow weather warning applies to all of Connacht, as well as counties Donegal, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
It will be in effect from midday on Saturday until 6am on Sunday morning.
Further updates will be issued as necessary Met Eireann has said.
