Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for hazardous conditions in Galway and the southern half of Ireland this weekend.
The status yellow weather warning will be in force from 3pm on Saturday until 11:30pm that same night.
“Heavy rain and strong winds will bring a risk of flooding and hazardous conditions,” Met Eireann has warned.
Rain in Galway will be worst on Saturday evening, and will continue into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Light variable winds in the morning will gain strength and veer easterly as the day progresses.
Despite this there will be some sunny spell in the early afternoon as well, with highest temperatures of 9° – 10° on Saturday.
The alert has been issued for Galway, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, and all of Munster.
