Motorists should exercise caution on the roads this morning, as a status yellow weather warning for fog is in place.
The weather alert for all of Ireland will be in effect until 11am on Monday morning.
“Fog patches will be dense in parts giving reduced visibilities and poor driving conditions,” Met Eireann has said.
Weather in Galway is otherwise expected to be overcast but dry today, with temperatures averaging a brisk 6 degrees.
Light to moderate easterly winds are expected throughout the day.
Conditions will continue much the same on Tuesday, with some light patches of rain developing in the evening, and continuing overnight into Wednesday
