Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning ahead of widespread gales and potential wave overtopping on Wednesday.
The warning will be in place in Galway and all counties in the Republic from 4am until 9pm on Wednesday.
It will be windy with widespread gales, southerly veering westerly, and severe and damaging gusts may occur.
There is a potential for localised wave overtopping along Atlantic coasts and a spell of heavy rain could lead to flooding in places.
