Two additional weather warnings for snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures have been issued by Met Eireann as this weekend’s cold snap is forecast to continue.
Another status yellow snow/ice warning will be in force from midday to 7pm on Sunday throughout all of Ireland.
“Scattered falls of sleet, snow and hail continuing for the rest of today. Icy and hazardous conditions,” the alert states.
A Low Temperature/Ice warning has also been issued by Met Eireann, which will come into effect at 7pm this evening, and last until 10am on Monday.
It cautions that weather overnight will be “icy and very cold with lowest temperatures of -5 to -2 degrees Celsius generally, colder locally.”
In Galway temperatures are forecast to hit zero in the early evening, and go as low as -3 in parts of the county, coldest inland.
