Two more status yellow weather warnings for wind and snow/ice have been issued by Met Éireann as Storm Eunice continues to move across the country.
Nationally, around 55,000 homes and businesses were left without power after the storm hit overnight, with the south and southwest coasts suffering the worst effects from the damaging winds.
Galway’s status orange wind warning was lifted at 11am, and a status yellow warning for wind is now in place until 6pm today, Friday.
A status yellow snow warning has also been extended, and will now be lifted at 10am on Saturday morning.
Both sleet and snow are expected on Friday and Saturday, with accumulations in some areas and icy stretches causing hazardous driving conditions.
There could also be heavy rain, and northwest winds backing westerly will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of up to 110km/h today.
