Met Éireann’s thunderstorm warning has been updated to status orange for Galway this afternoon, with motorists being warned that driving conditions be extremely hazardous until this evening.
Intense thunderstorms moving through parts of Galway this afternoon and early evening will bring hail and torrential downpours giving localised flooding in places, Met Éireann has said.
The warning for Galway, Clare and Tipperary is now in place and will expire at 7pm this evening.
A status yellow weather warning was issued by Met Éireann earlier today for all counties in the Republic, and this warning will remain in place until 8pm.
