The brief spell of sunshine we’ve enjoyed for the past few days is coming to an abrupt end this week, with Met Eireann issuing weather warnings for heavy rain.
A status yellow warning for all of Connacht has been issued for a 24 hour period from noon Tuesday until the same time Wednesday.
During that time Galway can expect to see spells of heavy rain, along with blustery easterly winds at time.
This weather may result in some localised flooding, along with poor visibility and difficult driving conditions.
Galway is still getting off better than the south of Ireland, where an Orange weather warning has been issued for Cork, Kerry, and Waterford.
This will be in effect from 6am tomorrow until the same time on Wednesday, with heavy rain and wave overtopping forecast by Met Eireann.
Another yellow rain warning has been given out for Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Wexford.
