Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for wind which will come into force on Thursday morning.
It will be unseasonably windy in Galway on Thursday, with south to southeast winds veering southwest. These winds are expected to reach mean speeds of 40 to 50 km/h with gusts of up to 90 km/h.
Winds will be strongest along the coast as well as exposed and higher terrain, and very rough seas are also expected.
The warning comes into effect at 8am on Thursday morning and will remain in place until 5pm.
Clare, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo are also included in the yellow wind warning.
