Met Eireann has issued another weather warning for heavy rainfall in Galway which will be in place overnight.
The status yellow weather warning cover the whole of Ireland, and Met Eireann is forecasting that “heavy rain this evening and tonight will lead to rainfall accumulations of 25 to 40mm.”
There is also a risk of spot flooding from the accumulation of rain.
The warning came into effect at 7pm on Thursday evening and will last until 7am on Friday morning.
This is the third warning for heavy rain that has been put in place for Galway over the past week.
An environmental warning issued today also said that “Weather conditions conducive to the spread of Potato Blight will develop tonight and on Friday”.
Things are also expected to get rough on the seas tonight as a small craft warning has been put in place along south and west coastal water, with easterly winds increasing to force 6 or 7.
