Galway daily weather Two weather warnings in place for Galway this morning

After welcome spells of sunshine across Galway today, the weather is set to return to normal with very unsettled conditions forecast over the weekend.

Met Éireann has issued a weather advisory for the entire country, with the weekend set to be wet and windy with a risk of localised flooding.

Rain will spread northwards over Connacht overnight, becoming heavy at times. It will be cold and windy with temperatures temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees and fresh to strong, gusty easterly winds.

Tomorrow, Saturday will be a cold day and the rain will continue throughout the morning, with sleet possible on high ground. It will gradually clear southwards through the afternoon and early evening.

Some wintry falls of snow and icy conditions are forecast for Galway on Sunday morning, when temperatures fall to below 0 degrees in parts.

The weather advisory was issued this afternoon and extends from tonight at 10pm until midnight on Sunday.
