Road users warned of freezing fog and ice this evening and overnight

Galway Daily weather Met Eireann issues fresh weather warning for Galway

Met Éireann has issued another status yellow warning for ice and low temperatures in Galway this evening and overnight.

The forecasters have also issued a yellow warning for freezing fog, which could cause hazardous conditions on the roads.

The warnings will come into force this afternoon and remain in place until 12 noon on Saturday.

A sharp frost and icy stretches will set in tonight as temperatures dip to -4 degrees in places.

The weekend will remain cold and sunny, with -5 degrees forecast for much of east Galway on Sunday evening and overnight.

But current indications are that snow could be on its way for early next week.
