A status yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for Galway and 11 other counties in the west and midlands.
Met Éireann’s warning was issued earlier this afternoon and will come into effect at 6pm tomorrow, Wednesday.
The warning will last until Thursday morning at 6am, and the weather chiefs say there is a risk of localised flooding overnight.
Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo, and Westmeath are also affected by the rainfall warning.
