Galway Daily weather Met Eireann issues fresh weather warning for Galway

An Orange weather warning has been issued for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with temperatures as low as -10C expected overnight.

The status orange Low Temperature/Ice warning has been issued for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, Cavan, and Monaghan, along with all of Munster and Connacht.

It will be in place from 8pm Tuesday until 10am on Wednesday morning.

Met Eireann is warning of widespread severe frost and ice, with any remaining snow staying place as temperatures will struggle to rise above OC in areas.

By Tuesday evening temperatures are forecast to already plummet as low as -3C in inland areas of Galway, hitting lows of 0C to -1C in coastal regions.

Lowest temperatures in Galway tonight of -8C to -10C in some parts, with a less frigid but till freezing -1C to -4C in coastal areas.

This will create dangerous travelling conditions on roads and for pedestrians, with accompanying delays and disruption to travel, along with animal welfare issues.

Further freezing conditions are expected nationwide for much of the week with a status yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning for all of Ireland in place until 6am Friday.
