Temperatures will creep up into the low to mid twenties this week with high pressure set to dominate across Ireland, bringing dry weather and plenty of sunshine.

Early indications are that the decent weather will last into the weekend in Galway, with the highest temperatures expected in the middle of the week.

Monday will see sunny spells in Galway, with temperatures reaching 22 degrees in parts in the afternoon.

It could become slightly cloudier in the evening, but Tuesday and Wednesday will be mainly sunny with no rain and few clouds.

Highs of 23 are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday following suit with similar conditions forecast.

The weekend also looks like it will stay dry with good spells of sunshine, with temperatures again in the low twenties.

Dublin and the east will see higher temperatures this week – but the West will see the best of the sunshine, with more clouds forecast for Ulster and the east later in the week.
