Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for Galway ahead of unseasonably wet and windy weather on Monday.
Southwesterly winds, veering northerly throughout the day will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h with gusts up to 100 km/h, particularly in coastal areas and on higher ground.
Heavy rain along with the strong winds will lead to spot flooding with a risk of wave overtopping in coastal areas.
Met Éireann’s warning will come into effect tonight at 3am, and continue until 10pm tomorrow, Monday.
Clare, Cork, Donegal, Kerry, Leitrim, Limerick, Mayo, Sligo, Waterford, and Wexford are also affected by the status yellow warning.
