Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, rain, and possible flooding this week covering Galway and all of Ireland.
Heavy thunderstorms are expected to develop from Thursday afternoon onwards, with some “severe downpours, hail and spot flooding” also forecast.
“Due to the localised nature of thunderstorms some parts of the country will remain dry,” Met Eireann said.
The weather warning will come into effect at 4pm on Thursday, and remain in place overnight until 9am on Friday morning.
A warning is also in place for thunder across all over Northern Ireland with information from the UK Met Office, which will be in place for the same time period.
“Whilst many places will be dry or see little rain, thunderstorms may cause flooding and disruption in a few places.”
Galway is forecast to see some light rain on Thursday evening and overnight, but nothing too heavy.
Temperatures will also spike again tomorrow, reaching highs of up to 23 degrees.
