A fresh weather warning has been issued for Galway and five other counties in the West ahead of high winds tomorrow.

The status yellow warning for wind comes into force tomorrow, Sunday, at 10am and will remain in place until 7pm.

The same warning has been issued for Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Clare and Leitrim.

Met Éireann say westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/h with gusts of up to 90 to 110km/h.

Tonight will see some showery spells of rain, but it will be generally dry with clear spells.

It will be cold with lows of 0 to 1 degrees, with some frost patches forming.

Tomorrow will start bright and sunny with some scattered showers.

A further spell of showery rain and sleet will spread southwards late in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures will be around 7 or 8 degrees.
