Met Eireann has extended a Status Yellow weather warning into Monday, with freezing temperatures expected on both Saturday and Sunday night.
The Low Temperature/Ice warning for all of Ireland which came into effect on Friday evening will now remain in place until 11am on Monday.
There will be very cold day and nighttime temperatures, with frost and ice persisting in many places.
This will create hazards such as slippery conditions for walking, dangerous travelling conditions, and welfare hazards for animals.
Temperatures are expected to drop as low as -3 degrees in parts of Galway tonight, with snow flurries in inland areas.
Sunday night will be a slight improvement, with lowest temperatures of -2 degrees forecast by Met Eireann.
Dense and freezing fog is also expected in many places, with a weather warning in place from Saturday evening until midday on Sunday.
This will create poor visibility for motorists and exacerbate hazardous travelling conditions created by frost and ice.
