Motorists are advised to be aware of dense freezing fog expected across much of the country this weekend.
Met Eireann has issued a status Yellow weather warning for fog to develop into Sunday afternoon.
The Fog Warning for all of Ireland is in effect this morning, and will remain in place until midday on Sunday.
“Dense fog forming in many areas, lingering through the day in some places. Patches of freezing fog too.”
This is expected to create poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions for motorists.
Another weather warning for ice and low temperatures is also in place today, with very cold day and nighttime temperatures forecast by Met Eireann.
This status Yellow weather warning will also be in place until 12pm on Sunday afternoon, with frost and ice persisting in many areas.
Further weather warnings are also likely into next week as an Arctic airflow brings consistently cold temperatures.
