After a fairly rainy day across Co. Galway today, Met Éireann has forecast a much drier weekend, with some spells of sunshine on both Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight (Friday) will see the persistent rain gradually clearing, followed by a mix of clear spells and scattered showers.
The lowest temperatures will be 9 to 11 degrees with moderate southwesterly winds.
Saturday will bring a mix of sunshine and scattered showers across the West, but there will be some decent dry intervals, especially later in the afternoon.
Highest temperatures will range from 15 to 17 degrees in light to moderate westerly winds.
Sunday will be a mainly dry day for most of Co. Galway, with some sunny spells – mostly in the morning before cloud builds. Afternoon temperatures will again be around 15 to 17 degrees.
Met Éireann expects it to become gradually warmer from Tuesday as high pressure continues to build.
It will stay generally dry through the middle of next week, although there will be some showers at times.
