Another cold day awaits – but snow showers are unlikely in most parts of Galway.
The cold and bright morning will make way for thicker cloud in the mid afternoon.
And any frost, ice and patchy snow on the ground will thaw as the day goes on.
Scattered showers will continue to occur though, mainly in the evening.
Some of these will be of hail and sleet, with snow showers possible on higher ground.
There is also a continued risk of thunder.
The highest temperatures will be between 4 to 6 degrees.
TONIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING
Mostly cloudy at first tonight with further showers, some of them wintry.
Clear spells will develop overnight, which will allow temperatures to fall to between -1 and +1 degrees with frost and icy patches forming by dawn.
Winds will be mainly light and tomorrow will begin bright and sunny.
