TUAM AC JUVENILES 

Ross Cosgrove was the only representative on this occasion from Tuam Athletic Club at the Irish Life National track and field finals in Tullamore over the weekend. Ross competed in the U14 200m event.

He managed a 4th place finish in his heat in a time of 27.76 and this performance saw him qualify for the 200m final later on in the day.

Despite running in an extremely high standard race and finishing outside of the medals, Ross bettered his time in the final running a very fast 27.63 and finishing in a very respectable 7th position overall. Congratulations to Ross.

Final preparations are underway for the Athletics Ireland summer camp which will take in St. Jarlath’s College starting on Monday 30th July. Further details may be found on the Tuam A.C. Juveniles Facebook page.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our annual church gate collection over the weekend. We would like to thank everyone who supported our club so generously on both Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses.

 

SYLANE HURLING CLUB 

Intermediates defeated Kinvara 3-15 to 2-08 in the league played in Sylane last Friday night. They play Annaghdown this Friday at 7.30pm in Sylane.

U13s defeated Cois Farraige 2-6 to 1-03 in Barna last Saturday and have now qualified for U13 B Shield Final where they will meet Skehana / Mountbellew / Moylough.

Junior C team were defeated by Kilbeacanty 3-15 to 0-10 played in Kilbeacanty last week.

Kelloggs Cul Camps: This week sees a record number of 135 boys and girls attend the annual Cul Camp in Sylane. Thanks to all who helped make it an enjoyable week for the children.

Lotto Numbers drawn on 16th July 2018 for jackpot €9,200 were 17,19,23,25. No jackpot winner and no match three winner. Draw takes place in clubhouse every Monday night at 9pm and is open to the public.

Good luck to Galway Senior and Minor hurlers this Saturday in the All Ireland Semi Finals. Best of luck to club player Keelan Creaven who lines out with the minors on Saturday at 3pm in Croke Park against Dublin.

The club extends is sympathy to the Murphy family Gurrane Belclare on the death of Angela.

 

COROFIN GAA 

FOOTBALLERS WIN AGAIN 

Galway footballers have qualified for the All-Ireland semi-final following their 0-19 to 0-16 win over Kildare, played in St Conleth’s Park, Newbridge on Sunday, in phase 2 of the Super Eights.

We congratulate Ian Burke on another excellent performance that earned him the man-of-the-match award on RTE’s Sunday Game.

KERRY DEFEAT GALWAY JUNIORS 

Hard luck to Galway junior team who lost out to Kerry in the All-Ireland Junior Championship final by 2-11 to 2-13.  The game was played in Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday. Cathal Reilly and Alan Molloy (who scored 0-1) both started for Galway, while Connor Brady was also a member of the panel.

SENIOR LEAGUE 

We play Killannin in the league, division 1 at 7.45 pm in Killannin on Thursday evening.

Our league game against Salthill-Knocknacarra was postponed last weekend as a mark of respect to the Murphy family.

SECOND TEAM 

Our second adult team began their junior championship (North – Group B) with a game against Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Clonberne on Tuesday evening.

This team play St James’ in the league division 4 at 2.00 in Mervue on Sunday.

UNDERAGE 

We play Monivea-Abbey in under 15 division 1 (North) away on Tuesday.

Our under 14 team had an excellent win in division 1 (North), defeating Mountbellew-Moylough by 4-10 to 1-13 played in Mountbellew on Friday evening.

SYMPATHY 

The Club offers its sympathy to Ger, Kevin and Deirdre (Tyrrell) and the extended Murphy and Dooley families on the sad loss of Angela Murphy, Gurrane, Belclare. May she rest in peace.

LOTTO 

Lotto numbers drawn were 2, 11, 12, 26. Jackpot not win and one match 3, John Ruane. Seller’s prize Patricia Langan. Next week’s jackpot is €6,650 and draw in Club Office.
