Our U15’s are County Champions again! This incredible group of players continue to progress up through the grades and continue to overcome every obstacle in their path.

Having won the U14B1 final last year this tight panel of players made light of the step up and have once again ended the year unbeaten as county champions, will play in A1 next year and have now added more silverware to their already fine collection of County medals.

They started off the campaign with two away fixtures against Pearses and Ardrahan and finished the group with a home fixture to Kilconieron.

As we finished top of the group, we got a home semi- final with Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry and progressed into the final to play Cois Farraige who came through the other group also unbeaten.

We were hit along the way with some serious injuries but every member of the panel stepped up their game and took advantage of the opportunity to express themselves and shine.

But nothing seems to phase these young men and their never say die attitude, dedication, commitment and will to win has to be witnessed to be believed and every one of them are an absolute credit to their families and club.

We played the final Sat 13th on a horrendously wet day for hurling in Carnmore and came away with a win on score line of 6-6 to 3-4.

We had a quick tour of the parish and were warmly welcomed by Mattie and Mary Ryan of Ryan’s Laraghmore where they kindly provided food and refreshments for all who attended which is much appreciated.

Huge thanks to all parents for their support all year in getting players to training and matches. Thanks to Abbeyknockmoy HC for their continued support.

Massive thanks to Seamus McWalter for his amazing rehab in looking after all our young players not only on this panel but all club players no wonder people travel far and wide to attend Seamus and get 1st class physio.

Panel was:

Jamie Burke, Kian Flaherty, Mark Crehan, Lennan Doyle, Sean Lydon, Darragh Burke, Gavin Kelly, Michael Molloy (capt), Jamie Collins, Shane Forde, Thady Moran (MOTM), Niall Farragher, Niall Mannion, Cian Forde, Kevin Maher, Daire King, James Quirke, Cian Quirke, Olin Murray, Cillian Rabbitte, Jake Haverty, Cuan Lennon, Dylan Cosgrove.

Management: Declan Molloy & Cathal Moran.

Abbey U21’s are fixed to play Portumna in Abbey this Sunday at 11am. Please support.
