Galway United have announced that French striker Ibrahim Keita will be joining the senior team for the coming 2023 season.
The 27 year old was signed on as a free agent after successfully completing a trial period at Eamonn Deacy Park in the pre-season.
Keita brings a wealth of experience to the table having played in multiple countries, and represented his home nation on the international stage.
He first represented his home country at the U-16 level, and started his professional career with the Wolves, progressing through their academy to the first-team squad.
The 6ft 2in striker has League of Ireland experience, having played for Finn Harps under the stewardship of Galway United Assistant Manager Ollie Horgan for the 2017 season.
Having had spells in Greece and Slovakia, his last experience before joining Galway United was Czech Republic side Bohemians Praha 1905.
Now at Eamonn Deacy Park he will wear the number 11 shirt for United in the coming season.
Speaking to the club’s media team at his unveiling, Ibrahim said that he was delighted to join the Galway side.
“I’ve been here for two weeks now, I’m really appreciating my team mates, the coaching staff and the environment I’m in right now.”
“I’ve heard the fans are really, really good, I’m looking forward to giving them some great moments to cheer.”
