Three Connacht players named for Six Nations opening game

Three Connacht players have been named to the senior Irish squad that will face Wales in the opening weekend of the Guinness Six Nations Championship.

Mack Hansen, who has been making a name for himself in recent appearances, and Finlay Bealham will both be among the starting XV tomorrow.

On the replacements bench, Bundee Aki will also be representing the west of Ireland in Cardiff.

Johnny Sexton will be back captaining the Irish side, after sustaining a facial injury that needed surgery while playing against Connacht on New Year’s Day.

Ireland v Wales will take place in Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales this Saturday, with kick-off at 2:15pm.

The match will be broadcast live on Virgin Media and BBC television and on RTE and BBC NI radio.
