Kilnadeema National School near Loughrea is expanding its local sports facilities with an all weather playing pitch.
The project will include an enclosed all weather playing pitch and site works covering 1176 sqm to the rear of the existing school.
The Board of Management of the primary school in Kileenadeema East has received planning permission for the construction of the new playing field from the county council.
Kilnadeema NS currently has over 70 pupils, down from a highest level of 159 in 2006, along with three full time teachers, a shared .
Galway county council granted the school planning permission with six conditions attached.
