Galway’s senior camogie team began their 2018 All-Ireland championship campaign on Saturday, 9th June with a comfortable 1-16 to 0-9 victory over Clare in Pearse Stadium.
Niamh Hanniffy’s goal after just 40 seconds set the tone for the Tribeswomen and their victory was never in doubt with Rebecca Hennelly, Niamh McGrath, Niamh Kilkenny, Carrie Dolan and Ailish O’Reilly also prominent on the scoreboard.
New manager Cathal Murray was “happy with the win” and talked to Galway Daily afterwards.
Galway’s next outing in the 2018 Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship is against Waterford on Saturday, 16th June.  Throw-in at Kenny Park is 5pm and will be proceeded by the intermediate clash between Galway and Tipperary.
