Galway face Mayo in the Connacht Senior Ladies Football Final this Sunday (24th June) as part of a double header with Roscommon verses Sligo who meet in the intermediate decider at 2pm.
The provincial finals have become a major sporting occasion in recent years with the curtain raiser providing as much excitement as the clash between the two senior rivals.
With Ladies Football enjoying a surge in popularity following their record breaking 46,000+ attendance at the 2017 All-Ireland Finals in Croke Park, a bumper crowd is expected to descend on Castlebar.
Connacth LGFA President Liam McDonagh described it as “the biggest occasion in Connacht” and chatted to Galway Daily before the double header.
