Louise Ward scored the quickest goal in Round 3 of the 2018 TG4 All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football Championship when she hit the net after just 16 seconds against Westmeath on Saturday, 28th July.
Galway romped to a 6-17 to 1-6 win in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe to confirm top spot and a quarter-final meeting with Mayo on August 12th.
Roisin Leonard, Leanne Coen (2), Sarah Conneally and Emma Reaney were also among the goal scorers in an emphatic victory that served notice of Galway’s summer intentions.
Ward said the team knew “they had to get the performance right” when she talked to Galway Daily Afterwards.
