Galway camogie chairman Gerry Hennelly and juvenile chairman Brian Griffin were delighted with the performance of the two county teams who delivered back-to-back All-Ireland titles in McDonagh Park, Nenagh on Sunday (26th August).
It was the perfect finish to the county teams’ 2018 with two crowns as the under 16 reserves set up a special day with a 7-6 to 2-10 win over Cork in that competition’s final.
And then Gerry Dolan’s under 16 ‘A’ team created history by winning a fourth All-Ireand in-a-row and a 15th overall with a 3-14 to 1-7 result against the Munster outfit.
Both Hennelly and Griffin acknowledged that the work must go in now to esnure this underage success is carried ito the senior and intermediate ranks in the coming years as they chatted to Galway Daily afterwards.
