Cappataggle’s Caitriona Cormican was selected the 2018 Galway Daily Senior Camogie Player of the Year following three rounds of twitter polling that took place this week (August 20th – 22nd).
The dual star is enjoying a rebirth this season excelling for both the camogie and ladies football teams and put the fight to Kilkenny in last Saturday’s (18th August) All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Kilkenny in Semple Stadium.
Cormican was an All-Ireland intermediate winner with Galway in 2013 and won’t have time to enjoy this acknowledgement just yet as she lines out for the footballers this Saturday (25th August) in their All-Ireland semi-final against Dublin in Dr. Hyde Park.
The centre forward topped the poll with 34% of the vote ahead of Pearses’ Niamh Kilkenny (25%), and Mullagh pair Sarah Dervan (23%) and Aoife Donohue (18%).
