Portumna GAA club has been given the green light from the county council to give its club grounds a facelift for spectators.
Planning permission has been granted to the GAA clubs to make improvements to the viewing experience for spectators, players, and the community.
The club plans to build a new spectator stand and dug outs for more comfortable viewing of games.
They also intend to install a new scoreboard and floodlighting, along with a perimeter walkway with lighting.
Portumna GAA Club currently has three pitches on its grounds off the Shannon Road, a Training, Junior, and Senior pitch, along with an existing walkway around the site.
Planning permission was granted by Galway County Council for the works with nine standard conditions attached.
