Fifty sports clubs around Galway city have been allocated €120,000 under this year’s Sports Club Grants Scheme this week.
Of those, Galway city council said that eight qualified for the maximum grant under the scheme of €3,500 while another 16 received €3,000 or more.
There’s a wide range of sports being supported under the scheme from the old familiars like the local GAA club to less familiar activities like Judo and Water Polo.
The Sports Club Grants Scheme assists and supports City sports clubs to continue their good work in providing sporting opportunities for all.
The city council thanked Galway Sports Partnership for administering the grant on the council’s behalf.
