Galway City Council has warned of some traffic delays as construction works on the Doughiska Road begin on Monday, 5 December.
The works will improve cycling facilities and footpaths, with kerbs being realigned.
There will be significant traffic management on the scheme, which will be performed in phases.
The council says that any traffic-related disruption will be minimised as much as possible.Â
The Doughiska Road South Cycle Network Scheme Project is funded by the Urban Regeneration Development Fund and the National Transport Authority.
The works, being carried out by John Madden and Sons Ltd., are due to begin on site the week beginning next week, with site clearance activities taking place.
Updates, including traffic-management information, will be published on the Galway City Council website and social media.
