A woman and child are in critical condition after being found injured in a home in Clare this morning.
Shortly before 8am this morning, Gardaí and emergency services attended a house at Clarecastle, Co. Clare.
A female child was discovered with serious injuries, and an adult woman was also found unconscious at the scene.
Both were taken to University Hospital Limerick, where Gardaí say they are in critical condition.
Gardaí have set up an incident room with a senior investigating officer at Ennis Garda Station, and a family liaison officer has been appointed to the family.
The scene is currently being examined by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
No further information is available, and Gardaí have said that enquiries are ongoing.
