Wheatus’ first record is now seventeen years old, has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.
It’s hard to believe though that the band have remained unsigned and unmanaged for the last 8 years as they continue to write, record and tour.
Like so many huge hits before and since, Teenage Dirtbag, the band’s ode to adolescence and inescapable breakthrough, seems timeless and dateless, as if it’s always existed.
It’s certainly reached more generations that the ones that moshed to it the first time around!
Galwegians will have the chance to see Wheatus at Monroes later this month.
Doors open at 8pm, tickets are €25 excluding booking fee from www.monroes.ie and www.ticketweb.ie
