Roadworks taking place between Loughrea town and Craughwell village which got underway today are expected to disrupt traffic for the next week.

Galway County Council is carrying out resurfacing overlay works at three locations on the R446 between Craughwell and Loughrea.

The roadworks began today and are expected to take until Wednesday, July 16 to complete.

A Stop & Go system will be in place to manage traffic on the affected stretches of road from 7:30am to 7pm each day, except for Saturday and Sunday, July 11 – 12.

As a consequence users of this road are requested to expect delays and as such should allow additional time for their journeys.
