The status yellow weather warning issued by Met Éireann yesterday has been lifted this morning, with temperatures set to rise today as the frost clears.
It will become cloudy and wet though, as the bright morning makes way for more miserable conditions later today, which will continue throughout tonight and tomorrow.
Today will be dry and bright at first this morning and frost will quickly clear. Cloud will soon build from the west and outbreaks of rain will develop before evening. Top temperatures will reach 7 to 9 degrees in freshening southeasterly winds.
Tonight rain will become widespread and heavy with the risk of some flooding. Southeasterly winds will be strong and gusty. Temperatures will drop back to between 5 and 7 degrees.
Tomorrow, Friday will start wet and very windy. Heavy and persistent rain will gradually clear northwards to scattered showers. Strong to very strong and gusty southeast winds will veer southerly and moderate with the clearance later. Top temperatures will be around 9 to 11 degrees.
