UHG is the most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today with 46 patients on trolleys.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation keeps track of hospital overcrowding on a daily basis with its Trolley and Ward Watch.
According to the INMO there are a total of 369 patients without a proper bed in Irish Hospitals today.
The worst affected after UHG is University Hospital Limerick with 39 patients on trolleys, followed by Cork UH with 37 and Waterford and Tallagh which both have 25.
Also in Galway there are six patients without a bed at Portiuncula.
UHG consistently has one of the most overcrowded Emergency Department’s in the country.
A new ED is in the works, but is not expected to be delivered until 2023.
