UHG is the third most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today with 32 patients on trolleys according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The INMO’s daily Trolley/Ward Watch shows that there are a total of 485 patients on trolleys in emergency departments of packed into overcrowded wards in Ireland today.
There is a tie for first place today, with both Cork and Limerick hospitals boasting 52 patients without a proper bed today.
They are followed by University Hospital Galway (32), South Tipperary General Hospital (30), and Mercy Hospital Cork (27).
Back in Galway there are another six patients without a bed at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
