Galway City will get to enjoy twelve community festivals in the coming months which have been approved funding by the city council.
The council advertised back in September for local communities planning small festivals in their area to apply for small scale grants to help bring them to life.
Of the €12,000 which was available through the Local Community Festivals Grant Scheme this year, €9,984 has been awarded for twelve events.
The purpose of this scheme is to support festivals or events which are organised and run by local residents as a way to reconnect the community in line with the next and final phase of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
