East Galway TD Seán Canney has welcomed Galway County Council’s planning application to re-align the N17 road from Milltown to Gortnagunned.
Deputy Canney said that the project consists of 3 km of rural road to be re-aligned on the N17 National Primary Route, and will involve improvement to 8 T-junctions, 36 access connections and drainage works.
It is expected that a decision will be made by An Board Pleanála by June 2022.
“This project will complete the final phase of realignments of the N17 between Milltown and Ballindine,” Deputy Canney said.
“It will provide for safer access and safer driving on this very busy national primary route.”
