Free parking is available in towns across Galway County for the month of December from today, to encourage Christmas shopping.
The county council is providing free parking in Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Tuam, Clifden, Cleggan, Athenry, and Gort.
Free on and off street parking will be available in those towns from 11am onwards each day in the month of December.
“This is to facilitate and encourage footfall in the regional towns during the Christmas shopping period,” the notice states.
“Galway County Council wishes a happy, peaceful, and fruitful Christmas to the traders in County Galway.”
