Works to change the direction of traffic flow along four streets in the city centre are to begin next week.
The traffic management changes will reverse the direction of traffic on Middle Street, Flood Street, Abbeygate Street Lower (between Merchants Road and Middle Street), and Upper and Lower Cross Street.
Galway City Council says the changes, which are to be introduced from Monday 8 February, will reduce the volume of traffic along Middle Street and the adjoining sections of Abbeygate Street Lower and Cross Street Lower.
This will support safer pedestrian and cyclist access, support local businesses, and give more space for social distancing.
