Galway daily news Seven week road closure in downtown Galway City

A street in the west end of Galway City will be closing for a month while infrastructure works are taking place in the area.

Galway City Council has given notification that Munster Avenue will be closed daily from October 24 to November 25.

The road is being closed to allow for urgent upgrade works on the water infrastructure in the area.

In order to facilitate these works, the road will be closed from 8am to 6pm each day.

Diversion routes will be in place via Father Griffin Road, Father Griffin Avenue, Sea Road and William Street West.

Local access will be maintained at all times, and the city council will have signage in place in advance of the works.
